James Nelson, enterprise editor on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, was put in as the brand new president of the Society for Advancing Enterprise Modifying and Writing throughout its annual convention board assembly on April 20 on the Medill College of Journalism, Media, Built-in Advertising Communications at Northwestern College’s downtown Chicago campus.
Nelson succeeds Desiree Hanford, a Northwestern professor.
Along with Nelson, SABEW’s 2024-2025 officer ladder is comprised off Vice President Pia Sarkar, enterprise information editor on the Related Press, and Secretary/Treasurer Oliver Staley, freelance editor and reporter.
SABEW members elected seven folks to the board. The three incumbent board members are:
- Matthew Goldberg, senior client banking reporter, Bankrate;
- Janelle Nanos, enterprise enterprise reporter, The Boston Globe; and
- Staley, freelance editor and reporter.
SABEW membership additionally elected the next 4 folks:
- Mark DeCambre, editor-in-chief, MarketWatch;
- Stuart Elliott, editor-in-chief and CEO, The Actual Deal;
- Chuck Jaffe, host of “Cash Life with Chuck Jaffe,” freelance columnist, MarketWatch; and
- Rita Trichur, senior enterprise author and columnist, The Globe and Mail.
