On its seventh annual “Giving Day,” Adelphi College raised $684,564 from 2,011 donors, the college reported on Wednesday. The quantity of funds raised and the variety of donors contributing units a brand new document, in response to the college.
The funds will assist greater than 21 initiatives, together with tutorial scholarships, analysis, athletics and assist for the Adelphi Fund, an ongoing marketing campaign that helps college students, lecture rooms and tutorial applications.
“Every contribution fuels our revolutionary applications and analysis whereas enhancing our dedication to a customized, student-focused schooling,” Adelphi College President Christine Riordan mentioned in a written assertion. “We’re extremely appreciative of the document variety of donors and the outstanding quantity of giving this 12 months.”
Of notice this 12 months was a $25,000 donation from Greg and Katy Carey, on the tenth anniversary of the Bridges to Adelphi, which offers individualized tutorial, social and vocational assist providers to the college’s neurodiverse college students. Greg Carey is chairman of Goldman Sachs’ Public Finance and head of Goldman Sachs’ International Sports activities Financing Franchise.
This 12 months, Adelphi’s athletic division raised $166,262, whereas the Robert B. Willumstad Faculty of Enterprise raised $78,731.
